Music Mania
Friday April 20th from 7-9pm, grades 4&5.
Music, Games, Prizes, Giveaways! Tickets are $5. Please return payment in an envelope marked “Music Mania” by Wednesday, April 18th including your child’s name and homeroom teacher. Walk-a-Thon
Scheduled for Wednesday, April 18th – Rain Date: Friday, April 20th

The Walk-A-Thon is wonderful time outdoors for the kids, while walking for a cause. This event supports programs at our school, and usually one outside charity. This year our donation will support two local families in need of our help. We hope that all students will ask family and friends to sponsor them. Sponsor materials will be coming home soon. Fashion Show – For this year’s fashion show the Harrington Park HSA is partnering with Lord and Taylor. For a successful fundraising event, we need your support! Please consider making a family donation, which could include:

  • Professional services (decorating, landscape, beauty, lessons)
  • Gift Certificates (restaurants, shops)
  • Tickets (shows, sporting events)
    • Gift Items (crafts, clothing, electronics, jewelry)
  • Company product give-a-ways (key chains, pens, etc.)

  • Art Enrichment – Thank you to Mary Oakes and all the volunteers who helped assist with the wonderful classes that Harrington Park
    artists, Marcia Oakes and Holly Ciccoricco presented to our students in March. A special thank you to our class
    parents who helped organize the volunteers. We would also like to thank the Korean Parent Association (KPA) for
    their extraordinary assistance with this years program – the art of Korea!
    The art of Korea lessons and projects were amazing and the students really enjoyed it. Thank you also to Ms. Pidane and Ms. DeBellis and the entire school staff for all your help and flexibility with the scheduling of this successful program. Please stop by the glass displays and bulletin boards by the main office to see some of the student’s art work! They are wonderful!
  • HSA International Food Festival – Thank you to all the amazing HP parent chefs who prepared delicious specialties from around the world! The HSA would also like to thank and acknowledge the generous culinary donations from the following HSA Lunch Program vendors: La Casa Formosa, Chef Bob’s Catering and Minit Mart. A special thank you goes to Ms. Val, Patrick and Tom for all your help to make the event happen! Thanks also to the Korean Parents’ Association, the HP Boy Scouts and the student volunteers for all their efforts.
  • Winter Carnival – A big thank you to Maureen Renaghan for chairing the Winter Carnival! The event was very well attended and included fun activities for all! Thank you to all the volunteers, especially the HP Boy Scouts. What a great way to spend a winter day!
  • Thank you to all of the Market Day volunteers who keep coming out month after month to assist with distribution and deliveries.

Restaurant Discount Card

The Harrington Park Class of 2012 brings you the 2011-2012 Restaurant Discount Card.
This is a wallet-sized plastic yellow card, similar to a credit card. It entitles the cardholder to a 10% discount at 24 local restaurants, with some restrictions, including Amato, Buon Gusto, Cassie’s, Dimora, It’s Greek To Me, Madeleine’s, Mario’s, Mt. Kisco, Northvale Diner, Sushi Plaza, Tutti Giorni, Evergreen Chinese, and our own Presto’s, and more!

The card is valid from September 2011 through August 2012 and can be used over and over again! The cost of the card is $20.00 but the value is priceless!

To order your cards, please provide the following information and enclose payment in an envelope marked “Restaurant Discount Card”. The card will be delivered to your child’s homeroom a few days later.

Upcoming Events!!!

    • April Library Art Contest Create a picture of your favorite part of Spring. Please include your full name, age and telephone number on the back of your paper/poster board. Please drop off your artwork at the HP Library between April 23rd and April 26th. Ribbons will be awarded and all posters will hang in the Library for the month of May. Open to all HP Residents age preschool through 8th grade  Kindergarten Round Up- Saturday, June 16th from 9:30-11:00am. Highland Park- Come play and meet new classmates!
    • Harrington Park Sports Boosters raises funds to support and improve HP’s recreation facilities and programs. We are a non-profit organization and we rely solely on donations and fundraising activities to raise the appropriate money to support our mission.     • Some recent highlights we wanted to share with the HP Community:
       - Established two $1,500 (boy and girl) NVOT high school scholarship awards for graduating HP seniors ‘12. For specific criteria and more information visit the following link http://oths.nvnet.org/oths_guidance/
      – Purchased new nets for tennis courts (George Street/Hackensack Avenue)  Investigating and nearing decision to replace many of the Highland Field bleachers used for baseball, softball and soccer
      – Two Highland Field site maps will be installed by the parking area making it easier for residents and visitors to locate fields and walking paths -
      – A portion of the HP 5K Fall Spectacular race proceeds, $5,500, was donated to the Boys & Girls Club of Lodi in December 2011. Their facility was severely damaged during Hurricane Irene last year.
